About the Author

Maleah Nelsen never planned on writing a book. She simply started taking notes during the moments when life felt confusing, painful, hopeful, or quietly sacred. Over time, those notes became prayers, reflections, and hard-earned lessons shaped by her own journey of faith.Her relationship with God has been formed over decades of lived experience, both inside and outside the church. She has spent many years attending and serving, including time on church staff and nearly a decade as a vocalist on the worship team. Along the way, she has led small groups, served in children’s ministry, participated in mission trips, and learned that faith is often built in the middle of uncertainty rather than after it resolves.Life Is Tricky was written from the inside out. It is rooted primarily in Maleah’s own struggles, questions, and growth, with occasional inspiration drawn from walking closely with others. This book reflects a faith that has been shaped by doubt, obedience, loss, joy, and the steady grace of God showing up again and again.Maleah lives in North Dakota, where she works in the real estate and marketing field and continues serving on the worship team. She loves traveling, singing loudly in the car, reading, playing video games, attempting to learn piano when no one is listening, and soaking up sunshine whenever it appears.Her hope is that readers will feel less alone in their own journeys. Not fixed. Not polished. But seen, loved, and reminded that God is faithful even when life remains tricky.
